Wooden Christmas Tree DIY Holiday Decoration
Create a small wooden Christmas tree with an old furniture leg. You’ll love this rustic style, easy to make Christmas craft!
I’ve joined some blogger friends for a wooden leg Christmas craft challenge. Wait until you see what creative things everyone has done with their wooden legs!
Inspiration for the Small Wooden Christmas Tree
We all started with brown wooden legs that have a protruding screw. I went through my craft stash and found some wood slices and pinecones. These items inspired me to make a rustic themed small Christmas tree.
DIY Wooden Christmas Tree Supply List
- upcycled wooden leg
- small wood slices
- wood stump
- small pinecones
- glue gun and glue sticks
- Scrabble tiles (optional)
- small faux bird
How to Make a Rustic Wooden Christmas Tree
Step 1 – Attach the leg to the Base
Screw the wooden leg into the bottom of the wood stump. If your stump doesn’t already have a hole, drill one into the middle of the stump with an electric drill.
Step 2 – Wood Slice Placement
Arrange the wood slices horizontally on the side of the wooden leg. Find a combination that fits, with nothing hanging over the sides.
Step 3 – Glue the Wood Slices
Hot glue the wood slices onto the wooden leg. Repeat the process on the other three sides.
Step 4 – Glue the Scrabble Tiles
If you have Scrabble tiles, arrange them to spell something festive and attach them to one of the sides of the wood slices with hot glue.
Step 5 – Glue Pinecones to the Tree
Hot glue mini pinecones inside the spaces between the wood slices.
Step 6 – Wooden Christmas Tree Finishing Touch
Hot glue a small faux bird to the top of the small wooden Xmas tree.
Voila! Now you have a small wooden tabletop Christmas tree. I love the neutral, rustic look of this tree.
