Easy DIY Fabric Canvas Wall Art
If you’re looking for a quick and cheap way to decorate some wall space, this post is for you! Today I’m going to share my Easy DIY Fabric Canvas Wall Art project.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Staple gun & staples
- Fabric scissors
- Artist canvas (I used three that measure 20″ X 16″)
- Fabric of your choice (I only used one yard to make three panels)
- Iron & ironing board
- Pins
Step 1.
Iron your fabric to remove wrinkles.
Step 2.
Lay the canvas on top of the fabric (right side up), and arrange it the way you’d like the pattern to appear on the canvas. To do this, you’ll have to lift up the canvas and look underneath.
Step 3.
Trim the excess fabric. Leave two inches on each side of the canvas.
Step 4.
Fold over until the fabric meets the edge of the canvas on all sides. Pin and press.
Step 5.
Pull the fabric taut on all sides and secure in the middle with staples.
Step 6.
Fold and staple the corners
Tuck the corner to the side…
Then fold it up and staple to the canvas.
Step 7.
Continue to staple the fabric to the canvas all around, pulling it tight.
And you’re done! I used toile fabric, but any attractive print will work. Another tip – buy the artist canvas in multi packs. I got mine at Michaels Arts for Crafts with a half off coupon!
I hope you like my fabric canvas wall art project! You don’t even need a frame. Talk about cheap and easy 🙂
I styled this above a console table in my dining room, but it could go just about anywhere. It would look great on a mantle, an entryway, bedroom, or even a bathroom! If you get tired of the fabric, pull out the staples and start over with a new fabric for a fresh look.
Until next time!
Rebecca

Love this idea! We have been looking for something to put over our bed but because we are in earthquake country it needs to be lightweight. This is perfect!
Thank you Beth! These are definitely lightweight and pretty indestructible. Thanks so much for stopping by!
