Dough Bowl Centerpiece and Fall Tablescape

A Fall tablescape that features a rustic dough bowl centerpiece filled with moss, maple leaves and pumpkins provides the perfect setting for a cozy Autumn meal.

I’m thrilled to be participating in the Celebrate Fall Home Tours, hosted by Leen from Sand Dollar Lane. 23 talented bloggers are sharing spaces in their homes decorated for fall. Be sure to follow the links to all of the blogs at the bottom of this post for lots of fall decorating inspiration!

Antique Wooden Dough Bowl

I’m a little late to the dough bowl trend. I could just never seem to find one that wasn’t crazy expensive…until now. My husband and I rented a lake cottage this summer while our daughter was at sleep away camp, and I found one (at a great price) at an antique shop while out exploring the nearby town. I couldn’t wait to make it the star of my fall table setting!

Dough Bowl Fillers

I wanted to fill my dough bowl centerpiece with natural, budget friendly fall inspired elements. I pulled together a mix of items from my stash and Dollar Tree finds.

  • reindeer moss (Dollar Tree)
  • faux white pumpkins in 3 sizes
  • faux leaves (Dollar Tree)
  • twig ball
  • faux floral stem with mini pumpkins

How to Decorate a Dough Bowl

Line the dough bowl with reindeer moss.

Add an odd number each of pumpkins and twig balls to the dough bowl.

Scatter leaves atop the moss.

Finish with the addition of a mini pumpkin and leaf floral stem.

Your fall dough bowl centerpiece is now ready to grace the dinner table!

Fall Tablescape

My color scheme for the table came from these pumpkin plates that I scored at Dollar Tree last year.

I chose a green tablecloth and a burlap runner with a maroon grain sack style stripe.

The vintage squirrel and acorn salt and pepper shakers are a recent thrift store find.

I hot glued acorns onto the napkin rings to give them fall flair.

Now all I need to do is plan my fall dinner menu. How about butternut squash soup and crusty bread?
