Celebrate Your Story! #276

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Welcome to another party, my friends! I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend with your families. Today, I’m going to tell the sad tale of a craft fail…unfortunately, I’m sure many of you can relate. Why does this always happen when you’re on a deadline? My concrete planter project broke apart before I could style and photograph it for my blog post. I had to bow out of a blog hop, which was the most disappointing. Oh well. I plan to try it again tomorrow. I’ll let you know next week if I have better luck!

Now, let’s get to the party!

Wendy from My French Twist shared the most unique wreath / centerpiece. It’s called Paaskrans, which is a type of Easter wreath that’s popular in Holland and Germany. I just love all of the natural elements – grapevine, moss, feathers and eggshells.

Have you been decluttering? If so, you may be wondering what to do with all of your unwanted stuff. Jenna from Life of an Earth Muffin shared some great suggestions, whether you want to make some extra money or give to charity.

I’ve been trying to add more vegetables into my family’s diet, so I was happy to see this pork and fennel pasta sauce recipe from Meinhilde of Kiku Corner. It’s packed with veggies including eggplant, carrots, celery, mushrooms and tomatoes. Healthy and delicious!

I love these cute kid’s masks that T’onna from Sew Crafty Crochet made for her kiddos. She shared links to the pattern and the source for comfortable and adjustable elastic earlobes. My daughter would love the Wonder Woman styles!

It’s always fun to take a virtual tour of the unique places that Patrick from Adventures in Weseland visits. This week he went to the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It’s the 3rd most visited park in America! I loved hearing that a portion of the park was renamed after the late actor Robin Williams.

Denise from My Home of All Seasons shared six ways to create a spring or Easter centerpiece. My favorite idea is to use fresh produce. This “bouquet” of carrots is so clever!

The most clicked link of the week is from Claire of Pillar Box Blue. She is the queen of denim crafts and upcycling. These denim coasters are so fabulous! Plus, you can make them without a sewing machine or even a needle and thread!

  1. Oh wow, thanks for the kind words and the feature. That put a huge smile on my face. So very cool. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

  2. Thanks so much for hosting Rebecca and I really appreciate being part of your features today! I’m so sorry that your project failed but I know you will be successful on the redo. Very frustrating when that happens though! Thanks again and have a wonderful week.

  3. Rebecca, sorry about your craft “fail.” At least you’re crafting! I’ve lost my mojo in recent months. Just not inspired, and don’t want to make seasonal decor to just clutter up the house — I have so many wreaths, etc. already! Instead, I’ve been working on a huge backlog of travel photography, organizing and publishing them in albums. Just finished our epic Iceland adventure — nearly 60 pages with over 300 photos. Printed one for each of our sons too. Working on Greece now. It’s nice to dream of traveling again.

  4. Rebecca,

  7. Thanks so much Rebecca, sorry about the craft fail, that is frustrating! I hate recipe fails, when you go to all that trouble and it bombs or tastes terrible 😂 I hope you had a lovely Easter and Happy April!

  8. Rebecca – I’m so sorry about your planter. I don’t love fails. I had one yesterday…I think. I dyed my umbrella from last year because it was so faded and I didn’t want to buy another. Well I did it and honestly I can’t really tell if it looks different. I did the same color and I think it’s better but I’m not sure so I can’t post it! Ugh.

  9. Thank you for hosting this, I’ve been having fun checking out and commenting on some of the other posts! I also went back to my post and put a link to this link party as a thank you.
