Celebrate Your Story! #205

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Hi friends!  I’m so sorry the party didn’t go live last night…I had a terrible migraine and I just wasn’t able to function.  Which leads me to ask: Would anyone like to join me as a co-host of Celebrate Your Story?  If you have any interest, please shoot me an email and we can chat!  ([email protected]).  It’s a fun way to connect with other bloggers!

By the way, the Thanksgiving Tablescape Blog Hop, hosted by my friend Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate,  is going on this week.  You can start the hop at Red Cottage Chronicles.  You’ll love Maureen’s casual yet elegant table.  There will be new tablescapes that go live each day.  You can see mine on Friday!

I’m also participating in my first recipe blog hop!  If you like holiday cookies, be sure to check out Cookie Week, hosted by Maryann from Domestically Speaking.  The fun started on Monday with her M&M Peanut Butter Bar Cookies.  Yum!  My post will go live on Friday.

Here’s what I was up to last week:

How to Make a Thanksgiving Decor Basket

DIY Neutral Holiday Pom Pom Wreath

For this week’s party, it’s all about Fall and Thanksgiving!  I’m ready to put Halloween in the rearview mirror as we move toward the November and December holidays.

How lovely is this Outdoor Fall Tablescape from Crissy of First Day of Home?  I love the copper accents and the huge centerpiece.  She even made those cool flour sack dish towels!  You can find the tutorial on her blog.

Ann from The Apple Street Cottage made these cute pumpkins from wood pallets.  I love how she left the wood natural and just embellished them with a simple jute twine bow.

Jenna from The Painted Apron is an amazing artist.  She takes you step by step through her process as she paints this gorgeous painting of wildflowers.  I love how she styled it above this bed!

Wood bead garlands are so on trend, and I love them!  Pamela from DIY Vibes took it a step further and made one just for Fall.  You have to go and see the clever way that she painted the beads.

Beverly and Gloria from Across the Boulevard have created a soothing, neutral Fall Farmhouse Tablescape.  I love how this can transition into any season with just a few seasonal accessories.  I especially love the galvanized metal napkin rings with the eucalyptus sprigs!

Debbee from Debbee’s Buzz made several variations of her sweater pumpkins, and I love them all.  I’ve seen a lot of sweater pumpkins, but these are the most unique!  You’ve got to head over to her blog and check them all out.

The most clicked link of the week is from Rachelle of My Hubbard Home, and I can see why!  She shares how she updates her home decor for November.  Let’s just say there’s ironstone, velvet pumpkins, hydrangeas, white pumpkins, distressed candlesticks and transfer ware involved…some of my favorite things!

Thank you to everyone for sharing, and congratulations to all of the featured bloggers!  I had so much fun reading your posts and discovering new to me blogs.  Don’t forget to link up your new posts to have a chance to be featured next week at Celebrate Your Story!

  1. Thanks for featuring me Rebecca! What a great selection of ideas this week! I’m honored to among them.

  2. Rebecca, I’ve had migraines for years and know just how debilitating they can be! I really hope you are feeling better. Hosting a link party does seem to be a lot of work. This has been my first year of blogging and it’s kept me busy with a steep learning curve. I’m only just doing my first blog hop and its been hard figuring out what’s needed.

That said, thank you for the feature. So happy you enjoyed the hutch setup.

Hope you have a better week 🙂

    1. Rachelle, I’m so sorry to hear you also suffer from migraines. They are the worst. Fortunately, mine seem to run their course after 48 hours. I can’t believe you’ve only been blogging for a year! Your blog and photos are lovely. It’s been just over a year for me too, and I agree it’s a steep learning curve. The tech stuff is the hardest part for me. But I keep chugging along and learning as I go. Congrats on your first blog hop! That is very exciting. And I loved your November decor post 🙂

  3. Rebecca, I hope a blogger will step up and help you on Celebrate Your Story. Your migraine is a perfect example of what hosting alone can involve. Having said that, it’s your party, your rules! I get migraines also, but mine are musculoskeletal in nature (compression of nerve, bones). Glad you seemed to have pulled through it. Thank you for having us in, even when you didn’t have to. Looking forward to your table this week and what vintage items you might share.

    1. I’m sorry to hear you get migraines too, Rita. They are so debilitating. Only people who’ve had them can truly understand. I’d love to have a co-host for CYS, but I’ll keep going it alone for now if no one is interested. I’m glad everyone understands that life happens now and again, and the party may be a day late! Thanks for your support, my friend.

  4. Thanks for the party and thanks so much for featuring our fall tablescape! I hope you’re feeling much better!

  5. Rebecca, I’m so sorry about your migraine. Prior to “the change” I suffered from them too. It always started with vision issues on the same side. Many times I’d slur my speech and have numbness on one side. Scared the crap out of me each time because many of the symptoms mirror a stroke. If I took the meds as soon as the aura started it would relieve a lot of the worst. And then, the day after is migraine hangover day — usually another lost day. I sure hope you r feeling better. Will b tablescaping together with u on Friday.

Heh, thanks so much for featuring my sweater pumpkins and your generous remarks! Much appreciated!
