Celebrate Your Story! #219

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Hey everyone!  Welcome back to CYS!  I must say, I had the most unproductive week 🙁  I was feeling a little “off” and I just didn’t have the motivation to do much.  That’s why I didn’t finish the craft room reveal.   Perhaps I’m experiencing a little Seasonal Affective Disorder with these cold, dark Winter days.  Thank goodness Daylight Savings Time starts back up next month!

For this week’s party, I chose a unique mix of great posts.  Let’s check them out!

Who doesn’t love Rice Krispie Treats?  These bring out the kid in all of us!  Kippi from Kippi at Home shares her recipe with a secret ingredient.  And they take just 10 minutes to make!

Debbee from Debbee’s Buzz is the first blogger I’ve “met” who decorates for President’s Day!  Isn’t her blue and white Liberty Blue china beautiful?  You’ve got to see the adorable pics of her now grown sons dressed as presidents when they were in grade school!

I can’t resist a good furniture makeover, and this side table from Chas of Chas’ Crazy Creations turned out great!  It was dirty and a bit damaged until Chas got her hands on it.  I love that stencil!

There’s nothing that says Spring like tulips!  Patrick from Adventures in Weseland shared some lovely photos from Tulipmania at Pier 39 in San Francisco.  I’d love to stroll along this boardwalk lined with tulips!

Mmm…shrimp in a wine and garlic butter sauce.  I agree with Dave from That Guy Who Grills that shrimp makes a perfect meal at any time of the year.  I would serve mine with a side of angel hair pasta!

One of my goals is to read more and spend less time “scrolling”.  I love that Kristin from White Arrows Home makes time in her busy schedule to read.  Check out the books she’s reading this month, both new and vintage titles!

The most clicked link of the week is this recipe for Chocolate Cherry Trifle Cups from Rachelle of My Hubbard Home.  Doesn’t this look so decadent?  With layers of chocolate cake, vanilla pudding & cherry pie filling, I’m ready to dig in!

Thank you to everyone for sharing, and congratulations to all of the featured bloggers!  I had so much fun reading your posts and discovering new to me blogs.  Don’t forget to link up your new posts to have a chance to be featured next week at Celebrate Your Story!

  4. Presidents’ Day and tulips means we’re closer to spring – yay! Thanks for hosting us, Rebecca. I’m sharing a Blenko workshop where I made their iconic water bottle alongside their master glassblowers. So fun! I may or may not now have a little collection of those …….

    1. I’m counting the days until Spring, Rita. How fun that you got to take glass blowing class! Thanks for coming to the party!

  5. I hope you’re feeling better Rebecca? Can’t wait to see your finished project. And, thanks so much for featuring my Presidents Day blog post! Another reason I celebrate the holiday is that it coincides with Engineers Day. That’s bee-cause George is also considered the father of civil engineering. My hubby is a now retired engineer, so we always have cherry pie to mark the duel occasions. Next year, I’ve pinned Rachele’s Cherry Trifle recipe to try.

    1. Yes, thank you, Debbee I’m feeling much better this week. My daughter is home from school again today, so I’ll get the craft room posted tomorrow. My daughter has been bringing home President’s Day artwork that looks a lot like what your son’s made when they were her age. I need to create a gallery wall like you did to display her seasonal creations! My stepson is also a civil engineer. I’ll have to let him know about Engineer’s Day. Rachelle’s trifle would be perfect to celebrate the holiday!

  6. Thank you for letting me share “Lucky” #33. I’m with you on being less productive with less sunny days in the winter ~ I can’t wait for lots of sun!!

  7. Thanks so much Rebecca! I hope you’re feeling better this week, I can’t wait to see your craft room! I can see why the Chocolate Cherry Trifle was most clicked, it looks amazing!

    1. Thanks Jenna…I’m definitely feeling more like myself this week. Yes, Rachelle’s Chocolate Cherry Trifle looks SO good!

  8. Thank you so much for hosting the party each week. I LOVE the features!!!!

    1. Thanks Kippi! My daughter is going to love your Rice Krispie treats, and I’ll enjoy making your easy recipe!

  9. We can all use an unproductive week now and then. It refreshes us for the weeks that are crazy! Thanks for hosting!

    1. That’s a great way to look at it, Pamela! I was feeling guilty about being unproductive, but I do feel more energetic this week already. Thanks for that!

  10. What a big surprise to find my trifles was most clicked! I enjoyed sharing it with others.

I hope you are feeling better this week and up to completing the craft room project. I know how much you want to get it finished, and share it on your blog.

    1. I know I’m going to be making your trifles, Rachelle! My husband loves pudding, so this dessert is perfect. Yes, I’m doing better this week. I just need to photograph the room and write the post. Isn’t that the hardest part? It’s really come together, though. Thanks for coming to the party each week!
