Celebrate Your Story! #285

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Hola, friends! The big news around here this week has been our refrigerator woes. Of course, it’s not unusual for a refrigerator to crap out. But we just bought our fridge in 2017! Not only that, we’ve already replaced the compressor once since we bought it! Apparently, there’s a class action lawsuit going on regarding these models. What drives my husband crazy is that it got excellent reviews in Consumer Reports! Long story short, we’re getting a new fridge. It bummed me out because I really loved the fridge (when it was working).

Ok, rant over. Let’s start the party!

Oh, how I love lilacs! Unfortunately, my husband is allergic so I can’t have them in the house. So, I’ll live vicariously through Cindy of Cloches and Lavender. I love her gorgeous lilac bouquet in a rattan basket with the French chairs in the background!

Speaking of lilacs, Lori from Dining Delight shared the most lovely Lilac and Butterfly Tablescape. Can you believe the striped tablecloth is a beach towel from the dollar store? I’d love to pull up a chair at Lori’s table and sip some lemon tea and nibble on a sweet treat!

There’s been a lot of painted pots and vases lately in the blog world. It’s such a great way to give an old piece new life. I just love this plant pot makeover from Liz of Howling at the Moon. The shiny black paint against the aged terra cotta is such an attractive contrast!

This handmade star pillow from Allison of Darling and Dapper Life is so fabulous! With the neutral color, it can be used for patriotic holidays or year round. The cute tassels are the perfect finishing touch!

I love to go crabbing…it was such a fun part of my childhood. Regina of Saved From Salvage is planning a Father’s Day Crab Feast, and I enjoyed reading all about it! I’m so excited that it’s almost crabbing season here. I can’t wait to take my daughter crabbing for the first time!

Do you have a weighted blanket? I feel like I can’t live without mine lol! If you’re thinking about getting one, you’ll want to read this review from Jenna at Life of an Earth Muffin. This chunky knit style is also very decorative!

This month, we had a tie for the most clicked post, so I’m going to feature them both!

Patrick from Adventures in Weseland shared some photos from a boating trip he took in the San Francisco Bay. There’s the Gold Gate Bridge! Even though Patrick has lived in the San Francisco area his whole life, he decided to go on this boat ride usually taken only by tourists. He had a great time, and I just love his zest for life!

I had never heard of Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars, until now! Kippi from Kippi at Home shared this scrumptious recipe. I love that she used ready made cookie dough…easy, quick and delicious is my kind of recipe!

Speaking of that, its’ supposed to get to 118 degrees next week! I’m sure not ready for the heat! Sorry to hear about your fridge! Wishing you a wonderful week to come!

    Hugs,

  5. Thank you so much for featuring my pillow this week, I just love your link parties each week! Also, so bummed to hear of your fridge woes, that always makes for such an annoying time deciding on a new one and getting everything switched over. Hopefully it goes relatively smooth for y’all.

  7. Rebecca, I was born and raised in the bay area so the golden gate bridge shot really caught my attention.
Sorry about the fridge, we’ve been waiting over two months for a freezer part to come in, so I understand the frustration!

  8. Rebecca, I’m in the same camp as your husband with lilacs. Their heady fragrance really messes with my head, literally. Those cheesecake brownies looks so good! Reminiscing childhood memories is yet another way to enjoy vintage – have fun crabbing with your daughter!

  9. I am sorry you are having trouble with your fridge, but I guess our stories are a mix of good and bad happenings.

I hope you love the new fridge.

Thank you again for hosting – Juliet
