Celebrate Your Story! #189

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Welcome to this week’s Celebrate Your Story!  This will be my last post until next week, as I’m leaving for the Haven Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday.  Haven is an annual gathering of bloggers and influencers in the DIY and Home Decor niche.  It will be two full days of informative workshops, a chance to meet with brands for possible collaborations, networking, and lots of fun hanging out with others who “get” what we do.  I’m so excited!  Plus, I get to meet Chloe and some other blogging friends for the first time in person 🙂

OK, on with the party!  This week, I chose three posts that spoke to my first DIY love…sewing.  I learned to sew in my high school Home Economics class.  I made my prom gown and graduation dress.  My friends and I would hang out in the Home Ec room after school working on sewing projects.  While most of my sewing is now home decor related, I do remember how rewarding it was to make apparel!

Featured Links From Last Week:

Bev from Flamingo Toes has the most dreamy sewing studio!  Not only is it beautiful with all of the handmade and vintage decor, but it’s also super functional.  You have to check out the natural light from the huge windows and all of the storage.  I’d be so inspired to work in a space like this!

Stefanie from Style Safari designed this two piece plaid outfit!  Check out the chevron trim on the shorts! This set is so chic and unique yet casual and age appropriate with the longer short length.  It makes me want to sew my own clothes again.  I love it!

Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S made this adorable clothespin bag from a thrift store baby dress!  This is an easy project for anyone with basic sewing skills.  It’s a great way to upcycle a favorite dress that your child or grandchild has outgrown.  I love how Lisa displayed it with her vintage linens.  So cute!

The most clicked link from last week is this tasty looking Lemon Shrimp Spaghetti from Chasing My Life.    The recipe is quick and easy…perfect for a summer weeknight dinner!

Thank you to everyone for sharing, and congratulations to all of the featured bloggers!  I had so much fun reading your posts and discovering new to me blogs.  Don’t forget to link up your new posts to have a chance to be featured next week at Celebrate Your Story!

  1. Thanks for hosting! This week I am bringing more goodness from my home to your table. A delicious Blue Cheese Cole Slaw kicks off the list. Then a Three Color Pasta Salad salad for a cold light summer lunch. To round off the menu is a simple but delicious Creamy Grape Salad that Grandma used to make! Enjoy!
