Hot Cocoa Gift Basket With Vintage Style
Welcome back to week four of the Deck the Home Blog Hop! Today we’ll be sharing our ideas for DIY gifts. I’m so excited to see what all of my blogging friends have created this week! I’m sharing a hot cocoa gift basket. Be sure to check out all of the blogs below for lots of holiday gift giving inspiration.
There’s nothing like a steaming mug of hot cocoa on a snowy winter day! This would be a great gift for a family of four.
I like to give gifts that are unique and personal. This can be done by combining vintage and hand made items with something new and store bought.
So I started with a vintage picnic basket that I had in my stash.
I bought this cozy plaid throw at Joann Fabrics and Crafts. It was regularly $30, but I got it for $10 during the Black Friday sale 🙂
I laid it down flat in the bottom of the basket.
I had saved these jars thinking they would be good for a project.
I painted the lids with white chalk paint, and stenciled them with holly and a Christmas tree. They made perfect containers for mini marshmallows and candy canes.
I bought the hot cocoa at Shop Rite. It’s a better quality cocoa mix, plus the packaging is adorable. It’s all about the presentation!
The vintage enamel mugs and plate also came from my stash. I love enamelware…it always reminds me of camping.
I made some Christmas cookies to include on the enamelware plate.
I arranged everything in the basket on top of the throw.
I hand wrote a tag with a cute message.
And tied a big red bow around the handles.
Voila! A unique gift that a family would love to receive.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you liked my hot cocoa gift basket. If you missed my first three projects in this series, you can catch up here:
I’d like to thank Eileen from Just Measuring Up and Megan from Two Feet First for organizing this wonderful hop.

I would love to receive a gift basket like this. That throw is beautiful and it would be filled with those cookie crumbs as I drank cocoa watching Hallmark Christmas movies 🙂
Now, this is my kind of gift! The basket is gorgeous, the blanket looks warm and cozy, and well, who doesn’t love a cup of hot cocoa on a cold snowy day!
