Hi friends! There were no thrifting opportunities for me this past weekend…I guess no one schedules their tag or estate sales the weekend after Thanksgiving. But I’ve seen a few advertised for this coming weekend, so I’ll be back in business 🙂
For today, I have a few pieces of furniture from my stash to show you. Please excuse the dirty garage!
The first piece is a sweet little side table that I purchased for $5 at a church sale. It has a floral design on the top and a small drawer. It’s got some wear on it, but I feel that gives it character. I plan to leave it alone and see if someone else appreciates it as is.
Next is this wicker coffee table that I got for…wait for it…a DOLLAR at another church sale. It’s pretty dirty, but nothing that a good cleaning can’t remedy. It’s not particularly old, but wicker is a coastal classic that people like to use to furnish their beach homes. I may distress it to give it an antique look. Or, I may spray paint it to freshen it up. We’ll see. For a one dollar investment, I’m not too worried about messing it up.
I bought this upholstered bench for $10 at an estate sale a couple of years ago. It has a tired, faux velvet like seat that needs to be replaced. There’s some chipped veneer, but otherwise it’s in good shape. I love the curves and the carved wood detail on the legs. I plan to choose some fabric from my stash to reupholster the seat, then paint it a color to coordinate with the fabric. I will definitely post this project when I get to it!
Finally, the cat’s meow. I literally found this table on the side of the road! I raced home to retrieve my husband as it weighs a ton and I couldn’t get it into the van alone. It’s five feet long, and the top opens up. I started painting the base and legs white today. The top will be sanded and stained. It has some water stains, but I think it will look fabulous when I’m done. It will definitely be rocking the farmhouse look.
I have some exciting new business news to report, but I need to wait until everything is finalized. Hint: It involves some of this furniture. I promise to spill the beans during next week’s Tuesday Show and Tell!
I’ll be back again tomorrow with a featured gift idea post from a talented Deck the Home Blog Hop blogger.
See you soon!
