Celebrate Your Story! #264

Celebrate Your Story! Link Party

Hello friends. I hope you’re all doing OK. This has been a frightening week, and I’m praying that there will be no more violence.

I’m grateful to have my blog as a distraction from the news cycle and my own fear and anxiety. I’m sure many of you feel the same way about your blogs. So, let’s start the party and take a look at this week’s features.

If there’s one thing I need help with, it’s organization and time management. I was eager to read CoCo from The Crowned Goat‘s 10 helpful organizing tips. I especially appreciated her tip to finish a project before moving on to another…I often get distracted by other things and it really affects my productivity!

This crochet zebra is just the cutest! Debbee from Debbee’s Buzz made it as a gift for her dear friend’s baby granddaughter. What’s especially impressive is that Debbee hadn’t crocheted in 40 years when she took on this project!

Mmm…there’s nothing like a hearty soup and crusty bread on a cold winter day! Claire from Claire Justine shared her recipe for Spiced Carrot Ginger Soup. Nutritious and flavored with curry, this would be a perfect meatless Monday meal!

If you don’t yet have a 2021 calendar, Julie from My Wee Abode has a lovely free printable calendar available for her readers! Julie creates the most beautiful watercolor printables. This calendar will keep you organized whether you put it on the wall or on your desk.

My mom and I used to visit a fancy bakery where they had an oatmeal bar with many delicious toppings. This recipe for crock pot oatmeal from Amy of A Day of Small Things brought me back to that cafe. I’ve never tried peanut butter oatmeal, and the toppings she suggests sound comforting and gourmet!

Just like I was eager to read CoCo’s organizing post, I couldn’t wait to dive into Carol from Blue Sky at Home‘s blogging suggestions! As a blogger, there is so much to learn and a lot of pressure to do “all of the things”. I really need to set goals this year and narrow my focus down to those tasks that bring the best ROI.

The most clicked link of the week are these fabulous DIY hot cocoa bombs from Kippi of Kippi at Home. These have become all the rage this season. They are the ultimate chocolate lover’s treat!

If you’ve been featured this week or any other time at CYS, please feel free to grab a button to post on your blog!

Thank you to everyone for sharing, and congratulations to all of the featured bloggers!  I had so much fun reading your posts and discovering new to me blogs.  Don’t forget to link up your new posts to have a chance to be featured next week at Celebrate Your Story!

  5. How lovely to be featured this week — thank you! It was a real pick-me-up after this horrible week. Appreciate you hosting, providing the pleasant distraction. I’ve been horrified by the duel nightmares of the virus and what feels like a war on our own soil. It’s all so heart breaking, frightening and I’m furious. This is not the world I want to leave my sons. Honestly, not sure about blogging for the next few months. Instead, I’m probably going to focus on overdue blog maintenance, my physical therapy, and the arrival of a Scottie puppy in three weeks. Happily my mom is scheduled for her vaccine shots the end of the month and Valentines Day. That is a huge relief and means by March she can come visit.

    1. Oh Debbee, I can’t agree with you more. Life feels so scary and unreal right now. Thank goodness for the vaccines…I’m happy to hear that your mom will get one soon and will be able to visit. My husband is a physician and got his first dose last week, which makes me worry less now. I’m so excited for the arrival of your Scottie! He will be a perfect excuse to take a blogging break. I know he will bring you lots of joy! You’ll have to post some pictures of him, though 🙂

  6. Thanks so much for hosting this lovely party! It is greatly appreciated!!
Please stay safe, healthy and most of all, happy!!\
    Hugs,
    Debbie

  7. Thank you so much for hosting and for sharing your thoughts. I am feeling exactly the same way and I am so grateful to have my blog to keep me busy and away from the television! I am praying the year ahead will be a good one for all of us.
