Celebrate Your Story! #291

Celebrate Your Story Link Party

Welcome back to the party everyone! My website is still being staged with the new theme, so I don’t yet have a “new look” to reveal. I can’t wait until it’s done! It feels like I’m getting a makeover lol. You know that feeling when you get your hair and makeup done and put on a new outfit? It’s making me giddy! I know that you, my blogger friends, can relate 🙂

Now, let’s check out this week’s fabulous features!

I’ve never heard of Strawberry Poke Cake, but apparently it’s an old fashioned thing! Party newcomer Raquel from Organized Island shared this “vintage” recipe. I love that it’s easy to make by using boxed cake mix and jello. A perfect summer treat!

How many times have you propped your tablet up against something just to have it keep sliding down? Beth from Creatively Beth shared the best solution: a bean bag tablet holder. This simple sewing DIY takes just 15 minutes to make! It would make a great gift, too.

We’ve had a bumper crop of basil this summer, and I’ve made several batches of pesto. I was thrilled to see this sophisticated non-alcoholic lemon and basil spritzer shared by Lois of Walking on Sunshine Recipes. It looks so refreshing!

Travel and photography bloggers Dave and Jamie from Photo Jeepers shared the most amazing photos from their Oregon road trip. I didn’t realize Oregon was so scenic! It’s definitely going on my bucket list.

Have you ever heard of a double decker taco? It includes both hard and soft taco shells. If you miss this discontinued item from Taco Bell, no worries…Karla from The Happy Mustard Seed has created a quick, delicious and easy to make version!

I love this backyard patio transformation from Marie of This Dear Casa! She’s created such a cozy space for her family to relax. You’ve got to see how it looked before!

The most clicked link of the week is from Kristin of My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia. This boho macrame vase cover is so unique and chic! I still have quite a bit of macrame cord left over from a recent project, so now I know what I’ll be making!
