Speckled Eggs DIY Craft
Supply List
- wooden eggs (I found mine at Michaels)
- light blue paint (I used Dixie Belle paint in Dixie Belle Blue)
- brown paint (I used Dixie Belle in Chocolate)
- small paintbrush
- toothbrush
How to Make Speckled Eggs
Step 1.
Paint half of an egg with blue paint. Put the eggs in an egg carton painted side up so they can dry.
Step 2.
When the paint has dried (usually in 30 minutes) paint the unpainted halves of the eggs. Put them back into the egg carton again to dry.
Step 3.
Wet a toothbrush, then dip it into brown paint. Practice first by flicking the paint with your thumb onto a paper towel. It takes some trial and error to arrive at the right ratio of water and paint. It there’s too much water, it will be runny. If there’s too much paint, you won’t get the little specks. When you’re ready, flick the paint off the toothbrush onto the eggs. Let dry before speckling the underside.
Style and admire your speckled eggs! I put mine under a cloche atop a bed of reindeer moss with a fern.
