Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!
Now that it’s the start of a new year, I feel energized and excited to get started working on personal and business goals. I’ll share more about that later this week, but today let’s take a look at some recent things I’ve come across on my thrifting adventures!I found this vintage hooked rug at a thrift shop a few weeks ago. It’s in excellent condition, but needs to be cleaned. I’m pretty sure the cleaning cost will exceed the cost of the rug…a mere $60!Look how beautiful this is! If you’ve been shopping for rugs lately, you know how expensive they are. This rug is pretty big, and for it’s size and condition, it was a steal. I think it will go in the room off of the living room that we’re planning to use as a library.I found this bucket at an estate sale. I think I paid $1 or $2 for it. I want to try the DIY technique to galvanize shiny metal, and this is just perfect for that project. I also like the size and shape of the bucket. It’s sturdy and has a nice handle. It will be both a functional and decorative piece. I couldn’t pass up this vintage Singer skirt marker. It was only 50 cents. These go for about $20 on eBay with the original box. It’s used to measure the length of a skirt for a hem. I just love the 60’s graphics on the box. It even has a built in pin cushion. I may use it sometime! But if not, I collect vintage sewing accessories and I’ll display it in my craft and sewing room. This faux potted plant in an urn packs a lot of decorative impact! Best of all, it was only $3 at a thrift shop. And of course, more ironstone. This is a chamber pot with a lid from the late 1800’s. It’s manufactured by John Edwards and has a decorative duck handle. No longer used for their original purpose, these pots are popular as flower pots or just displayed amongst ironstone collections. I was thrilled to find one in excellent condition for only $5 at a thrift shop.
Thanks for stopping by! I’ve got an exciting new project that starts tomorrow, so stop back if you can for all the details!
Bye for now!
